Canon Character Section:
History: Madison Montgomery was born to a family of little means, her parents unable to hold a steady job or keep themselves afloat for very long. Fortunately for the Montgomery clan, their daughter somehow stumbled into fame at an early age, becoming a child actress at five years old. The young girl quickly became the sole breadwinner of the house, bearing the burden of earning her family’s livelihood whilst spurred on into exhaustion by her parents. Since then, the repercussions of her mother’s abusive and controlling nature have earned Madison several stints in a rehabilitation facility, and even a jail cell or two.
Despite such scandals, the young starlet’s film career continued to flourish, netting her seven million dollars a picture and two teen choice awards for her efforts. All the while, her telekinetic abilities grew alongside her notoriety and Madison indulged herself in the newfound power. Eventually, Madison’s careless overuse of her gift attracted suspicion after she caused the death of a prominent director by telekinetically hurling a spotlight at the top of his head. Although his death was deemed accidental, Madison’s involvement in the film, her drunk and disorderly conduct, and the large number of otherwise “mystifying” disasters on set attracted public suspicion whilst becoming media fodder.
She quickly came to the attention of Codelia Foxx, Headmistress of Miss Robichaux’s Academy for Exceptional Young Ladies, and was inducted into the clandestine school for burgeoning young witches under the guise of seeking alternative rehabilitation. The remainder of Madison’s story from then on can be viewed HERE.
Personality:
"Madison Montgomery is a stone cold bitch who loves hard drinking, big dicks and trouble. If she's dead it's probably because she got wasted and offered the Grim Reaper a handjob or something.” - Queenie
In all likelihood, if confronted with the above accusations, Madison would merely take a lengthy draw from her ever-present cigarette whilst silently concurring, though she’d still follow up with a sharp retort nonetheless. In truth, Madison is entirely aware of her abrasive personality and cares little for what others think of her. She is wholly unapologetic for her actions, and even less so her words. At best, she would offer a half-hearted attempt at reconciliation, though she’s been known to show true vulnerability from time to time. Still, she undoubtedly yearns to be the center of attention, whether that attention is positive or negative in its favor. Any publicity is good publicity as the saying goes, and the term infamous still contains her favorite combination of seven little letters.
Deep beneath the visage of a Hollywood cliché, however, the young witch is little more than a broken child still trying to salvage what little might be left of her soul. Granted, the distance between that splintered core and the mask of bitchery and debauchery she wears runs the length of the Marianas Trench, not to mention it’s laden with profane aspects in-between. Nonetheless, prior to her initial death at the hands of Fiona Goode, Madison was just beginning to find a sense of camaraderie and belonging at Robichaux’s, especially when she discovered that her abilities were prospering. Unfortunately, a swift slice of the knife across her throat put an end to that, along with whatever hope there was of salvaging that sliver of humanity for a time thereafter.
Several days later, after suffering a trip to an abyssal netherworld, Madison was brought back from death, though not all remained intact. Physically, the degradation of the young witch’s body had interfered with the resurrection, causing her to experience an all-encompassing numbness, both physically and emotionally. Afterwards, Madison’s personality took a nosedive into sociopathic territories, having been driven somewhat insane by her experiences. This change in the young woman’s mental state was most apparent in regards to the succession of the Supremacy, which she viewed as a contest. Madison’s determination to supplant any competition and remain atop the pack eventually culminated in the decision to commit murder.
Out of selfish intention, the Hollywood starlet even allowed Zoe, the girl who’d been her only friend at Robichaux’s, to die a painful death despite the fact that she could’ve easily brought her back from the brink. In actuality, however, a large portion of whatever friendship existed between the two girls was already diminished by Zoe’s relationship with Kyle, the only boy whose touch allowed Madison to feel something again. Hurt and betrayed, she harnessed those negative emotions in order to come ahead. It was Madison’s desire for the crown, her need for the validation and adoration she believed came with the position of Supreme which superseded any loyalty she might’ve once felt toward Zoe, or any other witch of the coven, in fact.
Madison’s number one will always be Madison herself, prioritizing her own desires far above all others. After being under her mother’s covetous thumb and becoming victim to Fiona’s mad wish for prolonged vitality, the young witch tends to care little for motherly figures. Friends and lovers are merely temporary distractions, though there may be possible exceptions to the rule given the circumstances. Overall, anyone who Madison has ever placed even a fragment of trust in has betrayed her. Her family exploited her, Fiona murdered her, Zoe “stole” their mutual boyfriend, and the promise of Supremacy rung hollow when she was denied her well-deserved calling. Her rejection during The Test of the Seven Wonders utterly crushed the young witch’s resolve, so much so that she succumbed to strangulation by Kyle despite the fact that she’d normally be able to trounce him with little effort.
Ultimately, what Madison needs at this point if she has any chance of redemption is love, whether platonic or romantic, though her fickle attitude towards monogamy makes the latter unlikely. If someone were to reach out toward Madison with a hand of friendship, she’d initially be very suspicious, believing all relationships to be transactional. The young girl believes that people always want something from you in return no matter their stated intentions or benign demeanor. Until such a time where she can actually consider someone a friend without believing they’ll squander that relationship, Madison is likely to keep herself emotionally isolated. She’ll make alliances, of course, and do her best to feel what she can and live on her terms, others be damned for the time being. Like the witchcraft she wields, Madison Montgomery is awe-inspiring, deceptively complex, and ultimately dangerous if you’re unprepared or cavalier in your dealings with her.
Powers/Abilities:
Madison Montgomery possesses a number of mystical abilities due to a genetic inheritance, a quirk of the Salem bloodline that grants her superhuman powers. In total, she displays the capacity for a number of magical gifts.
• Telekinesis - Madison’s forte is the manipulation of objects using the power of her mind. She can perform delicate tasks with this ability, such as unscrewing the bolt from a spotlight’s hinge with quiet discretion, but she’s also powerful enough to cause a bus flip with the wave of her hand. Granted, the latter was performed under emotional duress, but the capability is there. Most of the time, Madison only requires a line of sight to utilize her telekinesis, though greater showings of strength require physical gestures as a focus.
• Pyrokinesis - Whether it’s to light a cigarette or set a holy roller’s curtains ablaze, Madison is able to conjure up fires with little effort. With this ability, Madison can set objects aflame within her immediate vicinity, and though she normally requires visual contact in order to incite spontaneous combustion, she’s been known to subconsciously create small fires within her surrounding area when experiencing a heightened sense of aggression. Furthermore, once the flame has been created, she can direct its movements.
• Concilium - Essentially what amounts to mind control, Madison can exert her will over others, either by directly controlling their bodies or implanting mental suggestions that can even override a person’s will to live. She’s used this ability to cause a complete stranger to walk into traffic and once forced Kyle to kiss her. Madison’s suggestions can be nonverbal if she concentrates heavily.
• Resurgence - Arising oneself or others from the dead, powerful enough to restore the skin from burnt corpses and fix limbs previously unattached from the body. Madison has only demonstrated this ability once before in order to resurrect a man lying in his own coffin, but she did so easily with no prior training. The ability to bring someone back degenerates the longer a body has had time to rot or if it’s suffered too many physical injuries.
• Transmutation - Commonly referred to as teleportation, the ability to travel instantaneously from one location to the next without occupying the space in-between. Though only useful for short distances, this feat requires a great amount of concentration to perform safely, lest you end up displaced in a wall or skewered on a spiked fence.
• Decensum - This ability allows Madison’s spirit to descend into the netherworld. When a witch does so, she’s able to travel into a manifestation of Hell itself, which takes the form of their worst fears. Time flows differently in the underworld, and if Madison isn’t cautious, she could end up trapped and her body would disintegrate into dust come sunrise. Descensum normally requires an incantation to perform and is also referred to as astral projection.
• Vitalum Vitalus - The balancing of scales between one life force and another. Madison can transfer her own life force to the dead or nearly dying in order to heal them, once demonstrating this ability when she immediately resurrected a fly after crushing it between her palms. It’s similar to resurgence, but varies due to the fact that it can also be used to drain the life force of others and add it to one's own as well.

Samples:
Actionspam Sample:[A flood of light washes across Madison, her eyes struggling to adjust as she blinks forcibly. It’s a cold radiance, devoid of any warmth as it cascades across pale limbs.]
What the fuck?
[The words come weakly, undulating with a distinct croak. She hears laughter in the distance followed by hushed whispers. Turning to face the source, she’s greeted by a sea of faces, their expressions blank and lifeless.]
Hey! What’s the deal?
[Frantically, she looks about and discovers she’s standing on a stage, a poorly painted rendition of a countryside splattered on a plywood cutout propped up behind her. She glances down in horror as she notices the hideous garb draped across her thin frame, an atrocious union of polyester and paisley.]
Where… Where’s my agent? Where the hell is that bitch? Liesl?! Everyone knows I’m Maria!
[She shouts her maddened lyrics without really knowing why. Her voice is hoarse and her temples seem to pound against her brain. As though akin to a dream, Madison’s thoughts tell her that the scene before her is a natural thing, but her instincts scream at her to escape, to wake up.]
I wasn't... I'm not supposed to be here.[Emerging from the shadowed wings, a slender figure dances across stage, an unnatural smile plastered across her alabaster face as she nears Madison. Her footsteps make no noise, and though an oddly hummed tune emanates from the woman, her strange grin gives no indication of faltering. The murmurs continue within the audience, though their tones have twisted into something harsh and angry. Frightened, Madison rushes off-stage toward the exit doors, the whispers now a sharp deluge of spite.]
What the… fuck?
[A flood of light washes across Madison, her eyes struggling to adjust as she blinks forcibly. She’s returned to the exact spot on stage she’d just fled. The whispers begin to swell once more.]
Prose Sample:Madison traced a finger across a worn page scribbled with arcane diagrams, eyes scanning for the proper incantation. Beside her were several crystals of varying color and size, as well as a metallic bowl whose contents emanated a trail of sweet-smelling smoke. She wasn’t particularly skilled in spellcraft, but she’d be damned if she’d allow the other girls to surpass her in power while she was otherwise gone. Memories of the abyss trickled back into her mind's eye before she pushed them aside in favor of more pleasant thoughts, like the sight of Zoe’s doe-eyed mug when she witnessed the effects of the magic she was about to conjure.
“What the hell is this supposed to mean?” she scoffed, attempting to decipher the symbols bordering the image of a spell circle.
In truth, Madison didn’t care much for incantations and ritualistic practices. Such things were meant to be performed with measured actions and a reverence with which she utterly lacked. To her, these spells were simply a means to an end, and the scrawling of some ancient hag deserved no more respect than tabloid trash until it proved itself effective. Besides, the old bitch clearly didn’t entertain the consideration of her fellow witches when she chose to pen the entire grimoire in utter chicken scratch.
Taking a pinch of powdered silver from a nearby pouch, she sprinkled it into the smoking bowl before grabbing one of the smaller crystals and holding it above the now-sparking vessel. She took a deep breath before reciting the chant, eyes closed and mind focused. When she opened her eyes, the clear crystal had transformed into a cloudy blue which continued to swirl within the gem’s interior as if the young witch held a crystalized maelstrom within her palm.
“Ha! Take that, skanks!”
